Baja California is a state in Mexico and is a minor location in Season 2a, and a major location for Season 2b.
Pre-Apocalypse
Not much is known about Baja California before the outbreak, except, like most of the rest of the world, 'business as usual' seemed to be the order of the day. The state capital is Mexicali, located in the east, while its' largest city is Tijuana which is located in the west. Baja California shared a border (in the north) with California in The United States of America and the Mexican state of Baja Sur to the south. The boarder crossing between Tijuana and San Diego was a major border crossing. Thomas Abigail was a wealthy businessman living near Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California (a town in Baja California) where he and his family also ran a vineyard.
Post-Apocalypse
Like its American neighbor to the north, Baja California is not fairing well. The town of Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California (and it is implied that every other major urban center, also), has been overrun, as has much of the surrounding countryside. There is no active police or military presence in the state (on land, at least), and, not alone is the town of Valle de Guadlaupe overrun, but the city of Tijuana and its surrounding area has been taken over by both street gangs who are pushing their influence further and further and by the Infected, who are roaming in moderate size hordes in several parts of the region. The main highway from Rosarito to Tijuana is littered with abandoned cars and car accidents- at least some of which have infected inside, as well as many small towns appearing to be empty.
