Texas is a state in The United States of America. It is the primary location for Season 4 and Season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Texas was the second largest state in U.S., both in land area and in terms of population, while also sharing a border with several Mexican states to the south-west. It's capital is Austin while it's largest city is Houston. It was the only U.S. state to be an independent state before joining the U.S (Hence the name, the "Lone Star State").

Post-Apocalypse[]

Not a lot is known about Texas during the outbreak. It can be assumed that it followed the example of California, with state and local police being among the first responders, with these first res-ponders being joined by military units if and when a state of emergency was declared.

While it can be assumed that some aspects of Operation Cobalt were followed (i.e. the setting up of safe zones), there appeared to be no bombing of major urban areas as Austin appeared largely intact (as compared to utter destruction of Los Angeles).

At some point in time, and for unknown reasons, Madison Clark and her group set out for Texas from California. They set up a community in an abandoned Baseball Stadium.

After the battle with the Saviors, Morgan Jones set out from Virginia. While in Texas, he encountered other survivors, and eventually a group formed.

Trivia[]

  • The United States Electric Transmission System consist of three smaller regional systems: Eastern InterConnect, Western InterConnect, and the Texas Interconnect. As can be seen below, the State of Texas has an Electric Grid totally with its sphere of influence. The purpose of an interconnect is to ensure reliability of the grid within a region with respect to transmission standards, electrical frequency, and price assessments. The reason why Texas struck out on it own can be traced back to its independence movement against Mexico and its reliance on heavy industry and petrochemicals.
